Provide new backpacks and school supplies for more than 1,000 children eligible for free and reduced lunch in Summit and to sheltered children in Newark and Irvington.

Bridges ends homelessness through volunteer-driven outreach and individual case management focusing on health, housing and independence. We form relationships with those experiencing homelessness while meeting their most urgent needs.

Bridges Street Outreach (Run)

Our program goal is simple and straightforward: to bring community to the most vulnerable homeless and food insecure in lower Manhattan, Newark and Irvington. We deliver ready-made meals, clothing and necessities with compassion and respect.  Last year, 67,000 meals were delivered.   Volunteer

Project Connect

At Project Connect, professional case managers work with homeless clients to establish needs and set realistic goals that lead to better health, housing and independence.  Onsite medical services are offered through a partnership with St. James Health. Connect

Summit Programs

Every Friday we open our doors to Summit neighbors in need offering showers, clothing, and other necessities. Other yearly events include an MLK volunteer day of service, backpack and school supply distribution and health fair.

High schools, corporations, houses of worship and civic groups volunteer on Bridges Runs while others pack meals, toiletry and cold weather kits or make soup or organize drive for specific items. Onsite corporate volunteer events are welcome. Volunteer
