Bridges will hold its popular beer tasting fundraiser on Saturday, May 7 at the Morris Museum in Morristown. More than 80 beers will be available for tasting, and beer experts will be on hand to discuss and analyze each beer with partygoers. Fun and festive food will be provided by gourmet food trucks Pizza Vita, offering a range of wood-fired pizza, and Carmella’s NYC will be cooking gourmet versions of Italian street food.
Hors d’ouevres and dessert will be provided by What A Dish caterers, and alternative beverages will be available at the wine bar. The evening will also feature several types of live entertainment, a large silent auction and a wine pull.
A regular ticket costs $75, and a $150 ticket provides admission to a pre-party with passed hors d’oeuvres, special entertainment, a keepsake tasting mug, goody bag , and a mixologist making specialty tasting cocktails. The pre-party begins at 6:30, and the regular event runs from 7:30 to 10:30. A portion of each ticket is tax deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.

Founded in 1988, Bridges reaches out to the homeless in New York City and Newark, Irvington, and Summit, New Jersey every week. Last year, Bridges served more than 21,000 people. Over 2,600 volunteers helped deliver more than 63,000 brown bag meals, served more than 49,000 cups of beverages, gave 10,000 pairs of new socks and underwear, and provided 1000 new backpacks to children in need.
Bridges also runs Project Connect in Newark, which offers case management services that link homeless people to health and social services to lead to a healthier life and, ultimately, employment and housing. The ID program assists clients in obtaining New Jersey State IDs, essential to obtaining social service benefits, a job, or even a shelter bed.
