Volunteer
Become
a BRIDGES Volunteer
The
faces of our volunteers are as diverse as those of our street
friends. A Girl Scout might fill a brown bag with a sandwich,
fruit, and a treat; a 17 year-old boy will talk football with
a street friend; an 80 year-old grandmother might stir soup for
the RUN on a cold Friday night.
Over
1,500 volunteers from pre-school age to senior citizens, from
corporations and businesses to boys and girls scout troops make
essential contributions to BRIDGES. Many will participate in
a BRIDGES RUN and visit homeless friends on the street or in
shelters. Others make brown bag lunches and soup or collect needed
items for BRIDGES to distribute. Some volunteer weekly, some
yearly. The opportunities to make a difference are numerous and
rewarding.
Our
Executive Director is happy to work with you to find the volunteer
role that suits you or your group. BRIDGES is a rewarding way
to fulfill community service hours, mitzvah or confirmation pledges.
We can always find an interesting project for a girl or boy scout
troop. We count on businesses, corporations and other affiliate
groups for the essential contributions they provide.
We
depend on hundreds of volunteers to help us fulfill our mission.
