How it began
In March 2014, Bridges established “Project Connect” in Newark. At Project Connect, professional case managers work with homeless clients individually to create an attainable set of goals that will lead to better health, and ultimately housing and a job. Case managers link clients to service providers either holding office hours on premise or through our network of partners as well as offering an array of direct services including administrative and financial support to obtain an ID, the first step in rebuilding a life, registration for Medicaid, Supplemental Security Income (SSI) for individuals with disabilities, job readiness and financial literacy. Since opening Project Connect, we have assisted over 4,000 individuals experiencing homelessness obtain services that get them one step closer to achieving their goal of housing and independence.
