Middle School Students – What can you do to make a difference?

Here are a few ideas to get started:

 

  • Collect school supplies – deliver to Bridges by August 15th.
  • Collect toiletries and assemble toiletry kits (see website for what to include).
  • Make any number of brown bag lunches or breakfast bags and deliver them to Bridges any
    Friday (see website for what to include).
  • Organize a “penny” or “loose change” drive at your school – carry it to the bank (check
    with bank first for procedures) and then have a check made for Bridges to buy new socks
    and underwear for our homeless friends. Please don’t bring change to Bridges!
  • Organize a food drive for a local pantry. Contact us for more information.
  • Sort clothing and donations at Bridges on Fridays after school.
  • Volunteer at Bridges during the summer.
  • Contact us about going on a Bridges Run (outreach visit) on a Sunday morning with a
    parent.
  • Make Bridges part of your Bar or Bat Mitzvah celebration:
    • Ask each guest to bring a non-perishable food item.
    • Purchase toiletries or breakfast bag supplies and have an assembly line for your
      guests to make either toiletry kits or breakfast bags (see website for list of what to
      include).
    • Instead of floral centerpieces, be creative and make baskets filled with new games
      or books for children, or new socks or underwear or any of the items Bridges gives
      out every week.
  • Become a FAN of Bridges on Facebook. Search Bridges Outreach on Facebook click "Like"
    then please share your experience volunteering with us.
