Run Schedule "July"

To Sign-up for a Bridges Run

Before signing up for a Run, you must contact the Volunteer Coordinator, Craig Prince, at volunteerbridges@gmail.com or 908-273-0176, mailbox 2. Craig will assign you a code that will allow you to schedule your group for a Run, or let you sign up as an individual. Once you receive your “code,” you may sign up directly on the website. New groups generally start with a Run to Newark or Irvington. It is strongly suggested that all new group leaders attend a Run in advance of their scheduled dates. All Run volunteers must sign-up in advance – no exceptions.

Volunteers: All Run volunteers must be in high school or older. Release forms may be found under ‘forms’ and should be signed and given to the Run Coordinator before the Run. Approximately 15 volunteers with chaperones are needed for the New York City Run and 10 for Irvington.  Note that for some of the Newark Runs, there are two Runs posted: Newark A and Newark B.  If you have a small group of 7 or 8 volunteers, you should sign up for just one part; if you are a larger group of 15, you may split your group and sign up for both parts.  Keep in mind that the Runs will go to different location and then meet at one central location.

Signup below to make brown bag lunches, breakfast bags and toiletry kits. For a New York City Run, we typically go out with 500-700 lunches and 150 toiletry kits, Newark and Irvington 300 lunches and 100 toiletry kits. Breakfast bags are distributed as we receive them.

Soup makers are a small team of adult volunteers that volunteer to make soup, hot chocolate or lemonade before the Run. Soup makers commit to making soup at least once a month. Contact the Volunteer Coordinator, Craig Prince, at volunteerbridges@gmail.com or 908-273-0176, mailbox 2, for more information.

Core volunteers are experienced volunteers who arrive at the New York Runs in advance of the truck to meet informally with our New York constituents. Core volunteers commit to going on a Run to New York City on a Friday evening at least once a month. For more information, contact Lois Bhatt, Executive Director, lois@bridgesoutreach.org, 908-273-0176.
